“I heard a folk song, my neighbor’s playing fascinated me and encouraged me to choose the path of music,” says Romas Naidzinavičius, who has been composing songs since 1975. His first musical creative and concert attempts were in the classroom and at the culture house during dance performances. Later, while studying at Šiauliai University, he began searching for himself in his work, which led to sung poetry. “It is a confrontation between a creator-performer and a listener, to whom you give a melody, feelings, joy or experiences,” states R. Naidzinavičius.
They have performed in various halls, festivals, TV and radio shows, as well as abroad.
He has participated in many musical projects. Recordings of his songs can be found on the bards' album "Now When Possible". In 1986, he became a laureate of the Republican Civic Song Festival and a graduate of "Debiutės". He participated in the TV musical shows "Debesėlio pasakos" and "Music and Poetry", as well as in various republican festivals. He composed music for a children's play based on V. Vaičiūnaitė's "Skersgatvio pasakė". He published a songbook for young listeners "Visiems viena kregždutė".
For several years, he organized the singing poetry festival "Pilnaties atspindžiai" in Alytus. His last significant activities include the concert "Rugpjūčio skliaute" (August Vault), "Kaunas Bards for Kaunas", and "Bards' Christmas" in Kaunas.
“I think I still have a lot of beautiful songs to sing and create and give my listeners beautiful moments of life,” says Romas Naidzinavičius, who on August 6 will be a guest at the R. Granauskas Public Library of the Skuodas District Municipality, where his concert will take place. This will be the fifth event from this year’s “Word Fluttering” cycle. Starts at 6 p.m. Admission is free. So we look forward to seeing everyone.
